Re-Establishing Enrollment Auto Payments with HNFS by Dec. 20, 2017

Allotment payers not affected

Health Net Federal Services, LLC (HNFS) recently mailed a letter to West Region TRICARE Prime beneficiaries who have auto payments established with UnitedHealthcare Military & Veterans (UnitedHealthcare), informing you of the upcoming rate increases and asking you to re-establish these payments with HNFS by Dec. 20, 2017. We inadvertently left out information that if you pay by allotment via retirement pay, there is no action needed on your part. We apologize for the miscommunication. 

Here's what you need to know:

  • If you currently make enrollment payments by allotment through your retirement pay, your enrollment fees will continue to be paid automatically, and you will not need to do anything. Your enrollment fees starting Jan. 1, 2018, will continue to be paid via allotment unless you choose to cancel. 

  • If you currently make enrollment payments using EFT or RCC, you need to re-establish these with HNFS, as your arrangement with UnitedHealthcare ends on Dec. 31, 2017. 

  • To re-enroll for EFT/RCC payments with HNFS: 
    • By Dec. 20, 2017: Fax or mail in the HNFS West Region EFT/RCC form that you recently received in the mail from HNFS (or use the form on our website). We must receive the form by Dec. 20 in order to set up automatic payments for your January 2018 fees.

An automated payment option is the easiest way to pay your TRICARE enrollment fees because there are no paper bills to return and you don't have to worry about late payments. Keep in mind, due to system updates we're making as part of the transition effort, HNFS is only able to accept EFT/RCC forms via fax or U.S. mail at this time. After Jan. 1, 2018, new EFT/RCC arrangements can be set up online at www.tricare-west.com.
