Processing Timelines and Notification

Review the processing timelines and notification information below on how requests are processed.

  • Health Net Federal Services, LLC (HNFS) is unable to access referrals within the military health system.
  • Routine requests are processed within 2–5 business days of receiving the complete request from the provider.
  • Urgent requests are processed in an expedited manner for care that needs to be delivered within 72 hours.
  • Beneficiaries can choose to receive email or text notifications with links to newly processed authorizations or referrals through a secure inbox. To sign up for email or text messages, log in to our website with your DoD Self-Service log-on and edit your account settings.
